Below you will find handouts relevant to most of the courses I teach. These are viewable as PDF files that require Adobe Acrobat Reader.

Minor Vs. Major Titles Chart--A list of types of short works that must appear in quotation marks and a list of major titles that must appear in italics.

Manuscript Conventions Sheet--An MLA formatting guide along with some of my idiosyncrasies.

Viewing Microsoft Word files

Download Microsoft's Word Viewer if you do not have Word installed on your computer. This viewer will allow you to see the Word files, but you will not be able to edit Word files.

Viewing Microsoft PowerPoint files

Download Microsoft's PowerPoint Viewer if you do not have PowerPoint installed on your computer. This viewer will allow you to see the PowerPoint files, but you will not be able to create presentations.

Another site at Johns Hopkins University is also a good resource for thinking about the usefulness and validity of sources you find on the Internet, especially the WWW.
